Zelensky Condemns Devastating Russian Missile Strike Killing 14, Injuring 50+ in Kyiv

A Russian ballistic missile strike devastated Kryvyi Rig, the home city of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, killing 14 individuals, including six children. The attack on a residential area near a children’s playground injured over 50 people, highlighting the ongoing threat Russia poses even to areas far from the front lines.

Zelensky, sharing updates on Telegram, emphasized that this tragedy reflects Russia’s refusal to seek peace, declaring, “The whole world sees it.” Despite ongoing rescue operations, harrowing videos circulated on social media, depicting bodies on the streets and plumes of smoke rising ominously. The missile, identified as an Iskander, demonstrates Russia’s intent to target civilians deliberately.

The Ukrainian president condemned the attack, asserting that diplomacy has become a hollow term under Russian aggression. He called for intensified global pressure on Russia to bolster Ukraine’s defenses and reaffirmed that only collective effort will dictate the war’s conclusion.

Witnesses reported scenes of despair as emergency teams responded to the chaos caused by the missile strike. The aftermath revealed significant destruction, with five residential buildings damaged and vehicles set ablaze. This latest assault, just days after another that killed four, underscores the severe humanitarian toll amid ongoing conflict.
