Tostitos Tortilla Chips Recalled Amid Contamination Concerns, Frito-Lay Warns Consumers
Frito-Lay has issued an urgent recall for bags of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips due to potential contamination with undeclared milk allergens. Specifically, 13-ounce bags may inadvertently contain nacho cheese tortilla chips, posing a risk to those with dairy allergies. The company assures that the chips are safe for consumers without milk sensitivities, and notably, there have been no reported allergic reactions linked to this recall.
This recall affects fewer than 1,300 bags sold across 13 states, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and others, with products distributed as early as March 7. The official announcement came on March 27, with a complete list of affected lot numbers available on the FDA’s website.
Frito-Lay clarified that this issue is isolated to the mentioned product, and no other Tostitos varieties are impacted. Customers in possession of the recalled bags are urged to check the lot numbers and take necessary precautions.
