Top 2-Wheeler Brands with the Fewest Complaints: Ultimate Buyer’s Guide 2023

A study by J.D. Power reveals key insights into quality concerns among two-wheeler owners in India. Royal Enfield emerges as the brand with the fewest reported problems, boasting 68 issues per 100 vehicles. Following closely are TVS Motor at 75 and Bajaj Auto at 78. Remarkably, electric vehicles show greater quality challenges, with electric scooters averaging 90 problems per 100 vehicles, compared to just 53 for conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) models.

The comprehensive research, involving feedback from more than 6,500 new two-wheeler owners, indicates a correlation between distance traveled and reported issues. Riders covering over 2,500 kilometers in the first six months reported an average increase of 9 problems per 100 vehicles. Electric scooters notably faced challenges such as brake malfunctions, lighting issues, and electrical component failures.

In terms of specific models, the 2025 India Two-Wheeler Initial Quality Study highlights the TVS Jupiter leading the economy scooter segment with 75 problems per 100 vehicles, while the Honda Dio 125 excels in the executive scooter category at 50 PP100. In motorcycles, the TVS Radeon tops the economy charts at 54 PP100, and the Hero Super Splendor XTEC and Honda Shine 125 share the spotlight in the executive motorcycle segment with 72 PP100. The TVS Apache RTR 160 2V stands out in the upper executive motorcycle category with 53 PP100, while in electric scooters, the Bajaj Chetak leads the way with 45 PP100.
