Parliament Approves Rs 51,463 Crore for Manipur’s Budget: What It Means for You

New Delhi: In a significant move, the Parliament approved supplementary demands for grants amounting to Rs 51,463 crore for the current fiscal, along with the Manipur Budget for 2025-26. The Lok Sabha initially passed these funds on March 11, and the Rajya Sabha has now returned four key bills concerning appropriations. Notably, Rs 1,291 crore in excess grants for 2021-22 and an additional Rs 1,861 crore for Manipur in 2024-25 were also sanctioned.

This revised spending plan seeks an overall Rs 6.78 lakh crore, with savings expected to match Rs 6.27 lakh crore. The Manipur Budget outlines total receipts of Rs 35,368 crore, against estimated expenditures of Rs 35,104 crore, while a contingency fund of Rs 500 crore has been earmarked for the state.
