Mother, 36, who was so high on cocaine during school run other parents had to take her car keys and walk her children to class admits drug driving

A 36-year-old mother, Hayley Berry, faced court after she was found driving under the influence of cocaine with her children in the back. Parents grew concerned as she stopped her car on a busy road, prompting an onlooker to take her keys and ensure the kids reached school safely. Berry recorded 83 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine in her blood, exceeding the 50 microgram legal limit. While she admitted to drug-driving in court, her defense highlighted her efforts at rehabilitation. Ultimately, magistrates suspended her eight-week jail sentence, disqualified her from driving for 30 months, and mandated 100 hours of community service. The chairman of the bench remarked it was “one of the worst examples of drug-driving” he’d encountered, stressing the potential dangers involved.
