Israeli Airstrike Hits Gaza: Kuwait Hospital Chief Confirms Guard’s Death

An Israeli strike at the Kuwait Specialty Field Hospital in southern Gaza claimed the life of a security guard and injured 10 patients, as reported by the facility’s director, Dr. Suhaib al-Hamss. This incident comes just days after Israel targeted the Al Ahli Arab Hospital, under the claim of engaging a Hamas command center, yet without presenting conclusive evidence.

Dr. al-Hamss described the force of the strike, stating, “It was a powerful strike. Everything fell over.” The hospital, which relied on daily support for around 3,500 patients, faces dire conditions as the conflicts damage Gaza’s already fragile healthcare system. The World Health Organization revealed that out of Gaza’s 36 hospitals, 33 have sustained damage, severely impacting medical services.

Despite Israel’s assertions linking Hamas to the exploitation of medical facilities, Dr. al-Hamss emphasized the hospital’s purely medical role, maintaining that their operations had been communicated to Israeli authorities beforehand. He insists, “We’re not doing anything other than medicine,” highlighting the vital function the hospital serves amid widespread health sector collapse in Gaza.

As calls for transparency grow, the Israeli military is investigating this latest strike. The humanitarian ramifications of ongoing attacks on medical facilities continue to raise alarms regarding care delivery in the region, leaving communities desperate for aid amidst a looming medicine shortage.
