Chaos Erupts: 2 Protesters Subdued by Stun Guns at Marjorie Taylor Greene Town Hall
In a scene of escalating tension, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s town hall in Acworth, Georgia, descended into chaos as protesters were forcibly removed. The event, held outside Atlanta, saw Greene barely begin her remarks when Andrew Russell Nelms stood up, shouting and jeering. Law enforcement quickly intervened, removing Nelms amidst his cries of “I can’t breathe” and deploying a stun gun on him twice.
Greene remained undeterred, thanking police as her supporters cheered. “If you want to shout and chant, we will have you removed!” she declared, urging order. Moments later, another protester, Johnny Keith Williams, faced a similar fate for heckling during a video presentation.
Throughout the hour, at least six individuals were escorted out, with three arrests, as Greene championed policies like the Laken Riley Act and critiqued government programs, all while sidestepping audience questions in favor of pre-screened ones. When queried about her support for controversial measures, Greene dismissed concerns as media “brainwashing.”
Despite a significant protest presence outside, her interactions with supporters were met with applause. Greene defended the police actions, stating, “You know who was out of line? The protesters.” The event underlined the charged political atmosphere, showcasing the deep divides in contemporary American discourse.
